Hello, my name is Kateřina.

At the moment, my life revolves around my daughter M., who came into our world in June 2023. Thanks to her, I'm working on myself more than ever before, striving to be a good role model and inspiration for her. This sense of "living in the moment" really hit me, especially with a baby. It wasn't like that before.

I attended a bilingual high school where I learned French, led theater activities, served as a leader at summer camps, and was interested in physics. Eventually, I went to Brno University of Technology, specializing in mechanical engineering. However, I didn't give up on French. My major was a double degree, and I also studied mechanical engineering at Art & Métiers ParisTech in Cluny, France. Amid all those technical men, I noticed my own creative femininity. After a successful but challenging corporate internship, thesis defense, and exams, I decided that engineering wasn't for me! So, I switched to forestry and did an internship at a film company, where I continued as a production assistant. I went to Spain, where I filmed a short documentary called "Žínky" - a film about the status of women in society, which was featured in many competitive festivals worldwide, raising awareness about the situation of women in the Czech Republic (and beyond). This was followed by a visual exhibition - photographs of women and a video about their stories, displayed in Spain, at the town hall, and at UPV University in Gandia.

Photography, filming, painting, illustration, creation, and writing - all of this was part of my daily life, but it still wasn't fulfilling. I traveled to India, first working for a month in a company that aimed to save the world. I did marketing there and realized that I want to help, but not through marketing. The next month, I spent in an ashram, where I worked physically and mentally for 10 hours a day to become a yoga instructor. Suddenly, everything started to make sense. My spiritual journey, my decade-long experience with meditation, yoga, creation, and finding a soul partner... and then I found out that life would turn upside down because there was a baby growing inside me. I stopped studying, focused on myself and the child, began to perceive femininity differently, including the challenges faced by pregnant women and subsequently mothers. I'm finding my way through pregnancy and motherhood. I wish to help others on this journey too.

Mgr. Adla Karasaridu

Hi, I'm Adla.

🟪 IG @adla.spadla

I come from Broumov, and I've been living in Brno since 2010. I fell in love with this city because of its cultural life during my university studies.

I have a bachelor's degree in Interactive Media Theory and a master's degree in Aesthetic Education for Secondary Schools from MUNI. During my studies, I worked in student bars such as Duck Bar, Desert, and Alterna. I dedicated my free time to volunteering and later to organizing film festivals Brno16 and Mezipatra, where I held various roles from Art Cinema Manager to Volunteer Coordinator and Brno Coordinator. I was involved in founding the Queer Party and the Brno Pride Week festival. For the first three years of the festival, I created visuals in addition to organizing events like Film in the Closet and Speed Dating. Before becoming a mother, I worked as a designer in a corporate setting for five years. Our internal team handled various creative projects for HR, events, trade shows, facilities at Vlněna, global sales, but mainly for marketing.

Since June 2023, I've been a mom. All the things mentioned above are now living their own lives without Adla. As a mom, I'm eclectic - a bit Montessori, a bit eco, a bit DIY, and a bit punk. These days, I channel my creativity into making educational aids for our little one. I create mobiles, educational cards, and toys from beads, paper, and cardboard. Because I don't like being idle, I'm not content to stay home, and I haven't found the perfect club for moms with babies yet, so here I am. We'll play and talk together, go for walks with the kids to explore art on the streets, visit galleries, attend baby cinemas, and invite smart talkers. I'm an active mom, and I'm not afraid to admit it.
